  • Tom Wilson must be stopped, and talking Goon with Jay Baruchel

On this edition of the Cross-Check NHL Show, your hosts Andrew Berkshire and Mary Clarke dig into the Tom Wilson conundrum, going over his history, comments from former players about the incident against the New York Rangers, the Washington Capitals' enabling culture, and the NHL Department of Player's Safety's outright refusal to protect its players. We also talk about the Rangers' strong statement about the Department of Player Safety and George Parros in particular, but unfortunately we recorded before the Rangers turned around and fired Jeff Gorton and John Davidson, which leaves us with only more questions. Also on today's episode, we talk with actor and director Jay Baruchel about the legacy of Goon as it approaches it’s 10 year anniversary, Wyatt Russell and Goon 2, how he feels about his Montreal Canadiens, and what the NHL needs to do to become a modern league that draws in new fans.
